Illness, what triggers it?
By Isabelle Benarous
For years I've been asking myself questions concerning the real cause of illness. Is it genetics? Cigarettes? Bad eating habits? Stress? Lack of exercise? Maybe, but then, why is it so often young healthy people with no family history of illness will get cancer?
Nothing in the body can function without an order from the brain. The way our brain controls our heartbeat, digestion, breathing, immune system, is the same way it can order a biological dysfunction (illness or disease).
An illness or symptom is the result of a specific program sent by the brain to the body in order to express the solution to an unresolved emotional stress. When an individual is unable to consciously find a solution to a conflict and when this conflict creates a level of stress, which has an intensity surpassing the threshold a human can bear, the autonomic brain will transpose the stress into the biological sphere. The brain alleviates the level of stress in the psyche by means of sending a specific program we call disease, thus permitting the body to stop being under the control of the sympathetic nervous system for too long. Under the form of a metaphor, what we call disease represents in fact, the perfect solution to the individuals’ mental conflict, whether its origins are ancestral or personal. Our subconscious brain is programmed in terms of survival and is still using an archaic mode of action to maintain our species alive.
Referring to the law of nature permits a deeper understanding of this new concept. For example, in the case of a fox swallowing its' prey rapidly (the foot of a rabbit) for fear of it being taken by other predators, it might not be possible to digest such a meal because of the difficulty of digesting the bone, nail and fur. Consequently if the foot is stuck in the stomach, the fox will have at the most 3 weeks of survival (since normal digestion is insufficient to break down the bone). As always, the brain will choose the solution that will prolong life to the maximum. Since all living beings are programmed in terms of survival from one moment to the next, in the case of the fox, the brain triggers the perfect solution by promoting an abnormal cell multiplication process (creation of a tumor), which in turn creates in the stomach more gastric sugar in order for a more severe digestion to occur which will permit a more rapid digestion of the bone. Once the bone is digested, the brain will reverse the process and eliminate the tumor, which is no longer necessary.
It is very important to know that the unconscious brain doesn't make a distinction among what is real, imaginary, symbolic or virtual. That's why when a person has a conflict of not being able to "digest" a situation, it is understood by the unconscious the same way as if there was something real to digest, and the same process as the example of the fox is manifested. Unfortunately if the conflict persists in ones’ mind so does the dysfunction. Often times once the conflict is brought to the level of awareness of the individual and resolved, the purpose of illness is eliminated thus permitting the brain to re-establish normal biological function by reversing the process.
In the phase of resolution of a conflict, the body will use microbes or bacteria to permit the elimination of tumors and the reconstruction of tissues. Microbes, bacteria and viruses are part of the biological program of nature and play an essential and supporting role in all phases of disease.
For the unconscious brain, illness has a positive function. Each organ in the body has a role and therefore it can be the expression of a psychological conflict. For example, in a right-handed woman, cancer in the left breast might indicate a conflict with an offspring (death of a child or a child being in danger) while the right breast suggests a conflict with a spouse/mate. This type of conflict will occur when the experience is “felt” in terms of nurturing. In the case of lung cancer, the conflict can be "the fear of death" of oneself or a loved one. By creating a mass of "fast cells" (cancer) in the alveoli, the brain is promoting a larger intake of oxygen in the lung. Symbolically, for the unconscious brain, breathing represents the opposite of death. When one dies he gives "his last breath". It is interesting to notice most smokers have the above conflict. Metaphorically, the act of inhaling smoke provides them with a feeling of "breathing deep", and "getting more air"…
Illness is triggered by ones’ perception and the stress it causes. By using the Bioreprogramming(sm) method we can change the perception a person has of a specific situation that created the conflict, so that the brain will order to stop and ultimately reverse the process. An illness has a sense as far as a biological planning. When the conflict is resolved the body can heal itself.
This discovery making the connection between the onset of illness and unmanageable stress was made in 1981 by Dr. Rike Geerd Hamer. The French Doctor Claude Sabbah took Hamers’ findings one step further with the concept of Total Biology, establishing connections between illness and its potentially early programming within our subconscious brain.
Cancer is not the only illness, which can benefit from the resolution of conflict. Many other illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, diabetes, heart disease can be reversed.
For years I had been searching for the cause of illness and particularly cancer. It always seemed to me, modern medicine was only treating the symptoms and not the real cause. However medical treatments are very important and should be continued during the period of psychological work since all conflicts are not always resolved right away.
The above theory gives us much more than hope, it gives us certainty that not only illness can be resolved but also that we have a major role to play in our recovery process leading to health and well being.
